For heating of cottages, private houses and summer houses, during the cold season, boilers are used that operate either on solid fuel (wood, coal), or on gas, or on electricity. There are also other ways of heating the rooms (more on this in the article How to heat a house).
The use of an electric boiler as a heating device, although it has a minus in the form of increased electricity bills, but is characterized by such advantages as simplicity in operation, the absence of combustion products, small equipment, the ability to work in automatic mode. How to install electric boiler?
First you need to choose and prepare a place to install it. Electric boilers can be either floor or wall. Wall-mounted boilers are mounted on the walls of non-combustible material, the floor is placed on a special stand. The installed boiler must not have distortions either in the horizontal or in the vertical plane. The correctness of the installation for this parameter is controlled by the level.
How to connect the electric boiler to the heating system
Installation of electric boilers in the heating system is technically simple. Docking with the inlet and outlet pipe is carried out using couplings. It is advisable to install shut-off ball valves at the inlet and outlet of the boiler, and also a filter or sump at the inlet so that scale does not get into the boiler.
Connecting the boiler to the mains
Small-capacity boilers are powered from a normal 220V network. More powerful devices are connected to a three-phase network of 380 V. To connect the boiler, you will need a separate branch of the electric cable. It is important that the cable section meets the requirements specified in the boiler passport and is capable of passing the current of certain parameters. Also, a safety device and a switch with a distance between opening contacts of at least 3 mm must be connected to the cable. Grounding electrical appliance is required.
