The French authorities, at the request of the shareholders of the Yukos company, have arrested Russian assets in France. Earlier, the same thing was done by the Belgian government.
Thus, according to the head of VTB Andrei Kostin, in France, accounts of Russian companies in the subsidiary of a Russian bank were arrested. At the same time, sources close to the shareholder of YUKOS report that in the future Russian assets may be arrested in other countries.
Information about the arrest of Russian property in France and Belgium was confirmed by presidential aide Andrei Belousov, who said that Russia is going to challenge this decision because of its illegality.

At the same time, the Arbitration Court in The Hague demanded from Russia compensation for the shareholders of this company in the amount of 50 billion dollars. The Russian authorities did not recognize these decisions.
