Duke, not being able to pay for the demolished premises, discovers that his friend has long left the hotel. The journalist has no choice but to repeat the same act.
But when Raoul Duc is already racing through the desert, he receives a new editorial assignment - an overview of the prosecutor’s conference, which will discuss the problem of drug trafficking. The journalist is forced to return to Vegas, where, by the way, Gonzo is already waiting for him. The doctor, being under the influence of drugs, leads a young artist into the hotel room and “treats” her LSD. Responsibility for the abduction and defilement is not included in the plans of the journalist, but because he forces Gonzo to get rid of her. The congress of Duke and Gonzo seems to be a meeting of madmen, and therefore they run off to the room where the drug marathon continues. The thread of the story breaks and gets confused.
The history of the film
The film “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” (1998) was created on the basis of the eponymous work of Hunter Thompson, by the way, autobiographical. The premiere took place on 22 May. However, the film failed at the box office - with a budget of more than $ 18 million, he managed to raise only 10 million.
